Print Neon Inferno

Tasked to send to postcard home, an inconic image of bath. having lived here for more than a few years, this WAS my home. I'm not sure if it helped or hindered. anyway i used images from my childhood memories one especially vivid memory was that of the two gas towers, now sadly only one. an unusual industrial beauty in the middle of more traditional stonework.

Sellouts A Day

Okay, So what I am trying to do at the moment is to post a Sellouts Comic strip (almost) every day through Facebook (in the cover photo bit). The reason behind this is to mainly get work done and not fuss over it not being 'good enough' in my own very self-critical way. I want to get stuff out there, and get drawing more, Instead of the ideas just sitting dormant in my brain.
Right now, I feel its very rough, but I confident with time it will get better. Here is some for your viewing pleasure, Also I will eventually compile these into proper pages :P.

Today i have mainly been having a birthday

Well that was on a weekend.
I always think back on the year and wonder what I have to show for it, The answer is always disappointing, but I'm hoping one year it won't be. Anyway here is a Photoshop little thing I did idea came from when I had a bubble party on a hill.

P.S. This was supposed to be posted at the beginning of the month, but if forgot to HA! just sitting there as draft, collecting binary dust.

Here's some fighting scenery, it is pretty.

When you remove the game characters designed to punch each other out of consciousness. A real shiny crafted gem begins to appear. Though familiar, it's new. so focused on the character its quite common to forget all this beautiful setting.

There is something about the viewpoint, a slight skew of perspective makes it very compelling to look at.

I Think We All Deserve Some Sunday Morning Cyril.

I thought it would be nice to post some very influential music by a nice young man. Smooth and snappy like my peanut butter. I should really post some pictures soon.

Not since January...

Damn, It has certainly been a while, not that I haven't been busy >_>. I have, honestly(ish).
I have been doing many a things. mainly preparing for my university interviews, which I won! and now I'm going to the educational facility of Bath this September. My hometown, real adventurous arn't I!
I should Post some pictures, but I haven't got my laptop with my files on because I sold for beer money. Oh dear.
HERES One!
This is a charcoal depiction of Ruby a character for a comic I'm drawing.
I feel this looks very skewed, which has brought me to believe I need a raised board of some sort. Luckily one of my friends has one he's not using. So just have to be patient. I have been drawing a lot Ruby, this is so I can get a good idea of who she is. But it's time to move on! to other characters .

Page 1 of  Sellouts.
Now this here is not too bad. It's the sort of direction I've found myself going in for this project. Rough, expressive marks. I want to exemplify, and I want a sense of the surreal. Hopefully my drawing will get better as I go along as well.

Encounters Comic Strips

Over the last few days. In the snow. I have been working on my random little snippets of life which I like to call 'Encounters' sometimes when I'm day/night dreaming. I have ideas about scenes that don't really fit in anywhere. Some make some sense, some don't. I enjoy creating these things because it reminds me of that feeling, when your passing people on the street and hear a sentence or two. It's like a tiny glimpse in to another life another story, that you will probably never see them again. It's kinda beautiful.

Anyway here's a couple. One is very depressing.

Stuffdates January

Recently I have jumping more into the digital band wagon and been searching out new techniques especially for 'Paint Tool SAI' My weapon of choice. The reason I like SAI is because it's very lightweight and simple. It's just a very basic painting program and doesn't try to be anything else. Also handles with low mem machines and tablets nicely. I do use Adobe Packages still, who doesn't? their awesome!

First up been looking at values with this old man. I took quite a while on this one, I did a lot of it in double resolution so when i scale it down it looks nice and sharp.

This is one was blast from the past. This is the technique I used to use a lot in the old days. I feel it's a bit too rigid these days too tight and formulaic, which is not how I like to work anymore.

This is the direction, I've been into lately. Loose brushes and abusing overlay layer effect. Lots of room for experimentation so I will be having lots of fun with this.

Camel Leather Book

This year for Christmas I received a leather bound book from one of my sisters. The book is made of camel leather, as you can see it has a sort of googly eye looking object embedded in the middle, which is in fact a precious stone(not sure what sort.) The pages are really weighty and hairy which feels really peculiar to draw on. The book is also a very small A6, which is something I'm not used to drawing into. This should be a new and interesting experience, and will be good for when i'm out and about.
